The Campagnolo Neutron Ultra Clincher Wheelset is the aluminum answer to the Hyperon One. Using a welded, machined aluminum rim as opposed to the carbon rim of the Hyperon, the Neutron Ultra adds 90 grams but saves significant amounts of money.
Just because there’s no carbon rim doesn’t mean there’s no tech, because the Campagnolo Neutron Ultra Clincher Wheelset uses a carbon and aluminum hubshell with an oversized aluminum axle to provide a high stiffness-to-weight ratio. The hubs and rims are laced together using tried and true butted and bladed stainless steel spokes - a nod to both cost effectiveness and durability.
For stiffness and efficient power transfer, the rear drive side spokes are crossed. To save a few more grams, the non-drive side spokes and the front wheel are laced radially.
With all the small things being geared toward maximum strength with minimum weight, it’s no surprise that the Campagnolo Neutron Ultra Clincher Wheelset ends up so sweet.

From its rims and spokes, handling and flawless position, Mavic's Cosmic Carbone was designed to become the new standard and it's pretty much out of this world.
