The Racing 5 Evolution is Fulcrum's take on a budget-minded performance wheel. It stays true to many of Fulcrum's technical objectives, but focuses on providing a more accessible price point.

The Racing 5 Evolution was designed for those not wanting to break the bank on a wheelset, but still wanting a performance upgrade from their existing wheels. It uses Fulcrum's 2:1 spoke pattern on the rear wheel to provide strength and stiffness not found in other wheels in this price range. Racing 5's still use stainless steel bladed spokes, but they do so with a conventional rim drilling as opposed to Fulcrum's MoMag system used on the Racing Zero, 1, and 3. This reduces costs while still preserving much of the performance of the more expensive wheels. The Racing 5 still features Fulcrum's dynamic balancing, but does not use a welded seam. Racing 5's DO require rim tape, which is included with the wheels.
