If you like long rides that start at sunrise, and don’t end until sunset, Lapierre has designed a frameset just for you! The 2011 Lapierre Sensium carbon frame has so many comfort oriented features that you might not think it is a performance road bike. You’d be wrong. The full carbon monocoque frame delivers Paris-Roubaix level raciness. The FDJ ProTour team uses this frameset for many of the cobbled spring classic road races.
The Sensium frameset is nearly as light (900 grams, 46 cm frame) as the top of the line Xelius frameset. But, with it’s slightly longer chainstays, taller head tube and shorter top tube, the Sensium will fit and ride comfortable all day long.
The Sensium frameset features a monocoque production process that utilizes silicone mandrels to apply uniform pressure inside of the tubes. This ensures better adhesion between carbon layers, and creates a perfectly smooth tube, inside and out. Lapierre also employs an elastomer connector on the rear seatstays to help dampen unwanted vibration. The curved seatstays and flared chainstays help with shock absorption, while reinforcing the frame under pedaling loads. A tapered (1 1/8” to 1 1/2”), carbon fork with alloy steerer tube ensure ample front end stiffness, that even the burliest of sprinters will love.
These Lapierre framesets have been previously professionally assembled for test rides, but are new and include the full manufacturer’s warranty.
