A slightly heavier and more secure version of the Huez, the Mavic Zxellium Cycling Shoes offer up the perfect blend of weight, stiffness, and fit. The Mavic Zxellium uses the 5.5mm thick Energy Full Carbon sole to provide a light, efficient platform to transfer power to the pedals.
For the upper, the Mavic Zxellium Cycling Shoes use Mavic’s Energy Lock carbon heel cup and Energy Frame to keep your foot planted and further help with power transfer. The Zxellium’s upper is further enhanced by Mavic’s Ergo Lite bonding process, which joins panels without stitching to save weight.
Finishing off the upper and keeping you in the shoe are two of Mavic’s Ergo Strap SL velcro closures and one Ergo Lite Ratchet buckle up top. Mavic shoes are a bit on the narrow side and have a lower volume upper, but have a slightly roomier toe box than a Sidi.
Mavic’s soles are fairly flat, and the Mavic Zxellium Cycling Shoes definitely fit that description.
