The Northwave Typhoon S.B.S. Road Cycling Shoes offer tons of performance for a reasonable price. The carbon composite sole helps keep things stiff, but is less costly than a full carbon sole. For the upper, Northwave uses its Airflow System, which is essentially a massive vent in the front of the toe box and a couple of smaller vents in the sole, just behind the cleat, to let the air back out.
The Northwave Typhoon S.B.S. Road Cycling Shoes use the SBS system found on most of Northwave’s high-end shoes, so you can get a secure, adjustable fit to keep your heel firmly planted. Northwave’s shoes fit differently than others, with a little more curvy sole and footbed, and a roomier upper. Northwave’s toe box is wider and rounder, and the sole is a little wider in the forefoot.
As with all Northwave road shoes, the cleat hardware allows for significantly more side-to-side adjustment than other shoes. This is great for people with hip, knee, or ankle problems caused by wider or narrower stances.
