The secret to the Ridley Helium frameset’s light weight is the blend of 50 ton, 40 ton, and 30 ton high-modulus carbon fiber used to build the frame. By using the stronger high-modulus carbon, Ridley is able to actually use less of it to obtain the same strength.

If you look at a Ridley Helium frame, you’ll notice many similarities to a Ridley Excalibur, including the large tubes, the minimal seat stays and huge chain stays, the oversized lower headset bearing, and the taller head tube. The Helium and the Excalibur share most design elements, save for the integrated seat mast and the use of the higher modulus carbon on the Ridley Helium.

The Ridley Helium frame takes all those design features and translates them into one incredible ride. A note on Ridley sizing: Ridley uses a sloping top tube on their bikes, so in order to select the proper size, it’s important to pay attention to the effective top tube as opposed to the seat tube length. You really should focus on effective top tube on any frame, but it’s especially critical on sloping top tube frames.
