There is a lot more to indoor training than purchasing a stationary trainer, attaching your bike and hammering away at the pedals. You will feel like you are riding "downhill" if you don't use a riser block. A riser block will level your bike and allow you to ride more comfortably.
By placing a trainer mat under your bike and trainer, you'll protect your flooring from damage from dripping sweat, and as a added bonus, the trainer mat will quiet down your workout.
Make sure to install a trainer specific tire to the bike you have on your trainer. A trainer tire will save you wear and tear on your good road tire, and will run cooler.
