For 2010, SRAM Force Component Group got the upgrade treatment, borrowing not only design cues, but also functional elements from the top of the line Red group. For starters, all of the carbon fiber finishes on SRAM Force components are now the unidirectional carbon found on Red, giving it a sleeker, more modern look.
That look is further enhanced by a new dark silver finish and an updated graphics package to more closely resemble Red. It’s not all about cosmetic upgrades, though, because SRAM also borrowed the wider brake arm design from Red, giving Force even more stopping power. The 2010 SRAM Force Component Group also offers a BB30 crankset option, which adds stiffness and allows a complete group to come in at 1951 grams when configured with the BB30 option.
All the same features that made the previous generation of SRAM Force components a hit are still present, including Zero Loss front shifting with the trim adjustment on the big ring, 1:1 actuation on the rear derailleur to keep shifting quick and precise, and of course, carbon fiber galore. A quick note on BB30 - While BB30 is a great way to stiffen up a crankset while saving weight, you’ll need a BB30-compatible frame in order to run a BB30 crankset.
Please only select a BB30 crank if you have a frame that accepts it. If you’re unclear about your frame’s compatibility, please don’t hesitate to call or email us and we’ll be happy to help out.
